How To Start?

How can you reverse the negative trend in your church?  The first, most basic place to start is to look outside yourselves.  What activities do you have that you invite the public to each week?  Which activities do you really invite people to?

Having an ad in the religious section of the local newspaper and having activities listed on your sign outside the church isn’t enough.  What do you plan that is deliberately put together as an outreach to your neighborhood?

The key is to plan things that will benefit both your congregation and your community.  Do you have lots of people struggling to deal with elderly parents – that is certainly a subject that’s close to many hearts, so why not have a support group, or a seminar or two?  What about the challenges surrounding raising a teenager in this crazy world?

Properly advertised (this doesn’t mean expensive), and with the full support of the church members (and this means that everyone invites a friend, co-worker, neighbor), these events will be sure to attract interest and attention in your church.

Do you want ideas that will be unique to your church? Would you like to investigate events and programs that match the ideals and personality of your church? Email A New Vision at 2010newvision@gmail.com, and let’s discuss it!
